Michael looked at David, confused, yet concerned.”Wait, what do you mean you have dark magic inside you? I thought that you only had light magic.” Michael had a feeling that from what David had told him about Mim, this was what she had probably wanted all along. “I’m sorry that this happened, though. You’re my friend David, and whether I’m responsible or not, I don’t like seeing you hurt.” As the two started walking back toward the school, Michael said in response, “Don’t worry. I don’t plan on confronting her again.”

“I do only have Light magic, but Mim attempted to heal someone using dark magic and he became twisted and dark as it controlled him.  In order to pull it from him I had to accept it myself, so now it’s fighting me constantly.  It’ll eventually work out.”  He hoped.  “I know you are Michael.  Truly, it’s not your fault, but it’s sweet of you to be concerned.”

Michael had a feeling that whatever was causing David pain had to do with magic. “I’m guessing that it has something to do with magic, doesn’t it?” Michael said. He was concerned about David’s health, and didn’t want to see his friend in pain, but doing magic was out of his capability, so it wasn’t like he could heal David or help him magically. Michael could see how exhausted his friend looked, and sighed muttering to himself, “Why is it that every confrontation that I get in ends up like this?” Then to David he said, “Come on, we should go back to the school. That way we’ll both be able to get some rest.”

David nodded weakly “Yeah.  I’ve got dark magic inside me…..it attacks my abilities and my life force every time I use magic.  I’m sorry you can’t help Michael.”  He felt terrible seeing his friend so upset about it, and he gently rested a hand on his shoulder “It’s not your fault Michael.  This is my job, and there are always casualties and risks.”  Nodding in response to his suggestion,  David started walking back towards the school, hoping he wouldn’t collapse.  “Though I wouldn’t advise confronting Melissa again.”
